Estimates
How does an estimate with Quad2 Electric differ from estimates with other companies?
Two words: Virtual Estimate.
Many companies waste valuable time by scheduling a time to come to the customer’s home and look at the project in person before giving an estimate. This is a great waste of time and often is not required. Utilizing today’s technology, Quad2 Electric will visit your home virtually. This is not only more efficient but also safer during the ongoing pandemic.
Simply call us and we will schedule a virtual estimate through FaceTime or Google Meets.
Don’t have the time for a virtual estimate? Just take all the photos you can and email them to us with a detailed description of what you need done.
How does our estimating process benefit you?
The short answer is it saves valuable time! It’s typical for a home owner to shop around and get a few estimates from different companies, but why wait around all day for them to come to you? In less than 45 minutes we can get the information needed to give you a quality estimate without ever stepping inside your home.
Are estimates the final price?
Many times the estimate will be the final price. However, there are times that the estimate is a price range that is given to you. If you are good with that range, we will then schedule a time to physically come to your house and gather the remaining information needed to give a bid. A bid is the final price you will pay.
So what happens next?
After the virtual estimate, we will write it up and email it to you. If you agree, email the signed estimate back to us and we will then work with you to schedule the most convenient time for us to perform the work. It really is that simple.
Not 100% sold on the estimate but want us to come out to the job for a physical walk-through? No problem! We will gladly meet with you at your home or business to look over the job. However, there is an $80 consultation fee, but that fee is waived if you agree to the bid and hire us to perform the work.
Is it true you never charge by the hour?
Unfortunately no, but we do our best to never charge an hourly rate. Our hourly rates are reserved for troubleshooting electrical issues. We have a process for this that works to your best interest.
What is the price for Troubleshooting an electrical issue?
Troubleshooting electrical issues can be a time consuming endeavor. So how do we go about it to be beneficial to you?
When you have an electrical issue that requires troubleshooting we charge $175 for the first hour and fifteen minutes. Why the extra fifteen minutes? Most companies charge per hour. So if an electrical company comes to your home or business to troubleshoot an issue, they may spend between 10 and 30 minutes discussing the issue with you before beginning the troubleshooting process. This is a big waste of time, and can easily run down the clock, leaving less time to actually troubleshoot. This is why at Quad2 the initial price covers an hour and fifteen minutes.
What happens if you find the problem quickly?
If the problem is found quickly, within 30 minutes, we will only charge you our minimum $110 fee plus material. We are also going to take the time to go over the issue with you, and make suggestions on how to avoid the same problem in the future.
What if you can not find the problem in the first hour and fifteen minutes?
Many times a problem can be identified and repaired within the first hour, however there are times that the service technician will have to continue searching for the problem. At the end of the first hour and fifteen minutes, if we have not fixed the problem we will either give you a set price or get your permission to charge you hourly and continue locating the problem. We will never keep going without your permission!
